Why isn't there an Austrian SYW list in LAOK?

Why isn't there an Austrian SYW list in LAOK?

Could you kindly explain the lack of thinking in not having an austrian list in this book?

First off, welcome to the forum, nice to have you onboard.

I understand you are obviously unhappy with the omission in LAOK however we do try to avoid using profanity (even in abbreviated form) on here.

Normally if you ask your questions in a calm polite way, someone will answer them sooner or late, often even the book Authors will explain their thinking in person.

I will PM the moderator and see if this thread name can be tweaked.

Cheers... :D

Probably because the list from the Battle of Hundorf scenario is perfectly useable. I find it so. Additionally the background on the Austrians was just splendid.

Hi Reiter,

Sorry I have taken so long to reply to this post- didn't pick up on it. The list for the Austrians given on page 49 covers the Austrian Army from 1700 to 1775 ( as do all the lists in the book ). Although certain armies appear in different sections, the subsequent list covers the whole period. For example, the British Army list appears in the section on the War of the Spanish Succession, but covers the British army throughout the period. I did this to break up the text for the reader and maintain interest. It would have been possible to just put all the lists in an appendix at the end of the book, but I thought this approach ( putting the list straight after the descriptions of the armies ) worked best.

The Austrian army had a wide variety of troops whose success in battle was varied, and I think this list should be used as a starter. Feel free to tweak it to suit how the Austrians performed at different battles. If you have any questions or issues get back to me and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks.

The Austrians will be done by the weekend so pics will follow! Although it might snow on Friday, there should be good light Saturday to take pics.

The OP was obviously very interested in getting responses as they joined and posted within a couple of minutes but have not returned since!

Very true. The Austrian list is for 1700-1775. I think it covers SYW rather nicely. :)
Not sure what the op's intent was...
