Assembling the troops

Postby Miles Gloriosus » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:24 pm

I've been assembling the box I picked up at Salute, but it may have missed something. In the instructions it's said to use a spare pikeman as a sergeant. But as I make a count of possible arms, I noticed there are only four pikes, but five pikemen in each set. I managed to salvage a musket from a free sprue and made the other into a banner carrier, but maybe I missed something altogether. There is only one command sprue in the box, right ?

Assembling the troops

Hi Miles,

You are right - there are 5 pikemen bodies and 4 sets of arms - this is so you have the choice about posing and whether you want armoured pikemen or not (New Model Army had way less armour, for instance). Som when you make up the 12 Pikemen in the box you have 3 remaining bodies.

Check the leaflet that came wit the box. On it you'll see an example of the Sergeant made - pointing with a halberd (Sergeants badge of office) which can be found on the command sprue.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks for the info.

Seems a bit of a waste of bodies though ...

Anyway, it's a great set, I'm not interested in ECW, but the figures are truly fantastic, seems you guys managed to come up with 28mm crack cocaine ...
