ECW conference at Royal Armouries

Postby Cfury » Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:11 am

Hi guys,
Don't know if this is common knowledge but there is an all day conference at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on the 15th September. Its about 8 lectures on battles, weapons and archaeology, with a handling session (including Cromwell's sword!) the night before. My incredible wife got me a ticket for our wedding anniversary and I was wondering if anyone else was attending?

Can I purchase a bag of kittens locally? What about early Christmas presents, probably a bad idea, right?
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

A few years ago a friend and I, both ECW re-enactors did an all day stint at the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon. It, of course, has some lovely artifacts. My friend (who was also the county archaeology officer) casually asked if any of the portraits were original. "Oh, only that one" said the curator pointing to one of Fairfax that my friend had just propped his halberd up against! The halberd was hurridly removed!!!
Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think?
