Edgehill at Phalanx. St Helens

Postby cavendish » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:37 pm

The Mailed Fist war-game club from Hyde near Manchester put on 'Edgehill' as a demo game at Phalanx on Saturday 16th June using the new Pike & Shotte rule set. The terrain worked (phew!!!) the game was very enjoyable and went well. Great feedback from visitors, met a lot of really nice people who showed genuine interest in the period.
The result ... well a bit like the real thing ..... stalemate or a draw (but the Royalists would have won!) More importantly the new rule set worked really well (take note Steve at Warlord) and a good day was had by all, inspite of the weather.

Really beautiful looking game going on there, it's very inspiring for an EWC newbie like myself.

Edgehill is my "thing", so I'd be really grateful for the opportunity to pick your brains regarding troop composition and uniforms/colours etc.

If I can help in any way, I will only be too pleased. If you let me know what specifically what information you want? Troop numbers and their deployment are easily researched, but there are, and have been for years, ongoing 'arguements' relating to uniform, their colours, and in specific relation to Edgehill, the actual amount of 'uniformed' troops on the battlefield. There are lots and lots of members of this, and other sites who are far far more qualified than I to answer your questions.
I only hope some of those individuals will contribute to this discussion!
So having said that...ask away. I will do my best to provide the answers and if I get it wrong I am sure other members will point us in the right direction.
