Which Yorksdhire Royalist Regiment wore Blue coats and had blue colours ?

What is the original source of information ?

I have some eggs laying about here somewhere, anyone want to teach me how to suck them? ;)

Perhaps you need to set up some kind of a guard or picket (or just a crazed farmer with shot gun) round the thread, keep unwanted posts off.

Look. That's just rude and uncalled for.

We are a friendly community here and while we occasionally poke at each other, there is an esprit de corps that makes this forum one of the finest on the web.

So on that note, NO MORE unless it is about my bloody Naseby project!

Maybe you can act like a gentleman? You certainly don't write like one!

....and perhaps you might not assume that we are all a little thick and need your *cough* advise when no one asked for it. Let's face it, your remarks added nothing.
If you want to start a new thread with 'simple quiz question' as the title then maybe no one will think you are just trying to show off.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Grant but there appears to be someone sitting on a very tall horse. Maybe they would like to get off it and join the gentlemans club.

;) == indicated it was in a humourous tone - if you have no sense of humour and a rather large feeling of self-importance, I am not surprised you bit.

Absolutely no feeling of self importance.

It is a good idea to attempt to obtain information on the Naseby Regiments.

I would simply urge caution with regard to uniform colours taken from Sealed Knot sites as most of them have no basis in fact and by repeating the misinformation it simply validates the incorrect information.

The Blue Coated and Blue flagged Reiment is/was Conyers Lord D'Arcys.

Apologies for the rudeness by the way.

No worries 1642 - welcome to the forum :)

No issue with your sentiments - it just came across as if none of us would actually know that we need to check our sources. To be fair, there are a number of professional historians on here.

One sure way of spotting a Gentleman is his ability to apologise if warranted. I salute you.

Tea and biscuits anyone?

I spent years going around various record offices looking up old documents, petitions etc as I was attempting to write a book on the Officers and Regiments of the Royalist Army.

It never happened but I catalogued the Regiments and their exploits.

Grant,if I can help in any way I will.
