TYW - K.A. Wilke illustrations

Postby Ala Noricorum » Tue Jun 19, 2012 8:38 pm

Pozdravljeni-Greetings;

after serious and very long consideration I have decided to participate in forum.
Im in all sorts of wargames for almost 30 years - warhammer, Romans,Celts, TYW, napoleonic era, flames of war and love to read military books and visit historical places and museums in Middle Europe ;).

A great source for Thirty year war equipment and clothing are Colonel Eduard Wagner bookThirty years war printed in English in late seventies. I have bought reprint of book in Czech language- "Tricetileta walka" in Prague few years ago.

I would like to make Wallenstains guard, the only reference found on net are superb illustratons of K.A. Wilke on superb blog rohanturrene - link- http://rohanturenne.blogspot.com/2010/1 ... corps.html.

Do anybody know where I could find more of K.A Wilke illustrations of thirty years war?

Are any books with his illustrations of thirty years war printed and available?

S spoštovanjem-Regards

Quite a lot come up if you do a Google image search using his name. I have to say though that I'm always very cautious about using anything other than original c17th images.
Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think?
