Are there any novels out there on the market, of similar vein to Scarrows Eagle series, but set in 1700's Britain?

Hah I think that should say 1600's
Though I can not seem to edit it
Yeah, that's actually what I meant to write, but between my brain and the keyboard the words seem to get changed, it's kind of like a game of chinese whispers, but with myself
There was or is a series of books by Nicholas Carter the first one called Turncoat's drum, the Shadow in the Crown series. Only downside is that there is only 5 books in the series.. Not sure why the author stopped writing them.
They came out in the 90's, they are totally in the same vein as Scarrow's books but they do use 3 or 4 characters throughout the novels. I belive the author was a reenactor too.
Otherwise there might be one to your taste on this link

Well, not exactly a novel and certainly not ECW, but there is a Spanish movie on the market that covers the story of a Spaniard during the late Flandern wars: Alatriste.
Especially the scene of the battle of Rocroix at the end of the movie is imho very well done.
OK, I ordered Nicholas Carter's novel. Will read it as soon as I finished the last 12 'Sharpe' books (believe it or not, I never actually read them..)
Cheers
S.P.
Try Celia Boyd's first two novels in her proposed trilogy 'Reason from the stars'. It focuses on a doctor who gets caught up in the ECW. Not so easy a read, or as knockabout as Sharpe etc. , but captures the period for me and has flashes of both humour and sadness in all the right places. An added bonus is that you learn about medicinal plants!
By the way, why don't more male authors write about the ECW? Most ECW novels seem to be written for a female readership who dream about cartoon romantic cavaliers and evil roundheads (Celia Boyd is definately not in that category)
