As soon as a publisher requests an ISBN number they have to put in provisional details such as page count, price. etc.

We recently added the Pike & Shotte book ISBN number and threw in some finger in the wind data. Amazon trawls through new ISBN number and adds them to their pre-orders regardless of the details being correct or otherwise.

If I were you I'd ignore anything you see on Amazon as regards Warlord games publications. You'll find out the real details via our newsletter first.
Cheers,

Paul Sawyer

Is that the final cover? For a hardback rulebook I hope we get the nice cigarette card style illustrations seen on the cover of Hail Caesar and Black Powder. I expect nothing less from Warlord! :D

Yes I was hoping for that... I love the card illustrations on HC & BP, though I guess they cost more than using photos.

Is this 'Pike and Shotte' the final title? Not that I have a problem with it if it is, just wondered?

Not the real cover; we were asked for a place holder by a distributor and Amazon seem to have got their paws on it via a third party....not ideal.

On an earlier question about units/elements fleeing. It can be the case that a part of a battalia (even one representing just one regiment) can break/retire without the rest going with it...this actually was fairly common when different parts of the regiment were split. More often the pike and musket elements will converge to offer mutual support (there are rules for this) in which case they are treated as one fighting element and will take tests as such.

Effectively this allows you the flexibility to have your musket advance or hold flanks where they will be exposed or to stay with the pike if you wish where they will be protected but offer less of an offensive threat.

Hope this helps

All the Best

Ummm, bit of a long shot this, but will the new rulebook cover Samurai warfare in that period? If not specifically covered, can the rules be 'bent' to fit?

Just wondering because I love the Black Powder rules so far and I'm thinking of Samurai for my next project.

Thanks for the info on fleeing. My guys are particularly good at in other rules and will no doubt be equally good at finding reverse gear in the Warlord ones too.

An update from Rick, via Mikeland, in the BP General sub forum (emphasis mine):

They are being done in tandem - AT is being done by the same chap who did HC and BP - P&S is being done by our new one-man studio Mr Owen - though P&S is a bigger job and will take a bit longer.

Read the previous 3 or 4 posts - not the real cover, definitely no clue on release date. Amazon just pulls the book in because of ISBN.
