My book is on order from the LGS. Right now we are all into Hail Caesar, but I am sure I can get some to go to the ECW easily! I just have to get to the paint bench and get my Scots done!

figure scale versus ground scale distortion

The other thing I do is make the units slightly smaller. Having played WRG for 25 years I am used to small units.

What is it with the Scots?

Scots are a good choice because they fought on both sides of the ECWs at one point or other and the fought in the TYW too, so some people feel Scottish army can be used extensively for the period. I have a small covenanter force my self, but this was just because I fancy painting them.

They're a really striking looking army too. i think hodden grey (and it's many many shade variations) give you a nice rag-bag feel to a force while keeping it looking quite unified. I was (and still am) very tempted to get a couple of boxes of covenanter infantry to add as mercenaries for my growing Swedish army.

Hadnt thought of that maybe should add Swedes instead of Parliamentarians.

Does the rule set include the Poles? I've been waiting for rules for my Polish army with all the Winged Hussars and such.

Poles? Huzzah!

As long as we're looking eastwards, how about Streltsy? I rather fancy a bit of Dimitriad campaigning at some point. Although I expect to get this book one way or another, so no worries if I have to improvise a bit...

Although we wanted to concentrate the Thirty Years War section on Western Europe we couldn't really ignore the Poles or the Ottoman Empire so both get army lists.
No more in this book though; I'm sure we'll cover more Central/Eastern European armies in the future.
Cheers
