Seems Steve is having trouble posting to the forum from his phone.

He'll answer your questions on Monday when he's back at Warlord HQ...

iPhones can be fussy on the forum, sometimes. Good news on Monday!

Great news :D though pre order is waiting as Ive only one question. Can the rules be used with the smaller figure size on stands?
I use 10mm for most of my gaming  . Hail Caesar plays great with 10mm so I'm hoping the same will be Pike and Shotte :D
Anybody any ideas?

There is an appendix at the back of the book about playing with scales other than 28mm.
Cheers,

Seeing as they are based on the same format as Black Powder and Hail Caesar, there is no reason why you can't play Pike and Shotte using the same ground conversion as you do for Hail Caesar.

What kind of table size are we looking at for a "standard" game? I know that Black Powder at 28mm is generally thought to need larger than 6x4 if you want to avoid serious figure scale versus ground scale distortion. I really like the looks of the Warlord range but I am mostly going to be limited to 6x4.

What number of battalia per side would constitute a "standard game?

I have zero meaningful experience with gaming in this era so I would be starting from scratch.

figure scale versus ground scale distortion

This is something that is always going to be present regardless of the game or the scale. For me it is a focus on playability if it means moving in cm rather than inchs because of table size so be it, even with 25/28mm. Not many of us have access to the large tables recommended in the rules anyway, especially at home.
I need a cuppa and lie down. Its all to hard.

I understand that some degree of distortion is inevitable in any miniatures game. Having said that there would be a point where the distortion becomes so great that most players will have a hard time ignoring it. My sense of things is that most people would not play Blackpowder in 28mm on a 6x4 table except for really small teaching style games.

I am trying to get a sense of how closely Pike & Shotte tracks BP as far as unit frontage and unit density. If P&S tends towards smaller frontages and less units then it seems like you could get by with a 6x4.
