Seperate Weapons Sprues

Postby potter » Tue Aug 31, 2010 4:08 pm

It's probably already been asked, and no doubt will be again, but since the release of the WWII German figs I thought it would be worth asking...

Any chance of some seperate weapons only sprues for ECW/TYW?

The metal bits with the Clubmen are fine, but I would like to see Carbines, Matchlocks, Halberds, etc available in plastic and seperate (with no hands attached).

I know I asked a similar question when I asked about 'Bits for Scots' but then I was talking about lance arms and the Scots cavalry figs being availabe seperately...honest guv'.

So, if there were seperate weapons sprues made available for ECW etc, who else would buy them in multiples?

I know I would...esp, if they were as crisp as what we've seen recently

Nice idea,

Swords also. All these items could be used as battlefield litter along with the existing pikes.

The metal scots lancer figures also seperately would be a nice bonus.

Jim.

Well Paul,

What do you think. Lots of ideas. This is for Warlord Games because I think Architects of War will steal this.

Seperate Weapons Sprues

Games Workshop already do plenty of the above bits and pieces in various forms throughout their plastic Warhammer and WH40K ranges, as SP already found. It would be great to get all the stuff from WG too, but one has to wonder how financially viable it would be. Perhaps making some sprues only available via mail order (so no packaging) could cut down on costs.

Now that's a good idea Cubster...

Yep, I do think a sprue (say the same size as the one for the command ECW sets) with swords, Firearms, blanket rolls etc, would be hugely succesful, and would sell to more than just the ECW/TYW crowd on here.

I think Tamiya with their WW2 sets along these lines still rank their weapons sprues amongst their top sellers of all time.

I've seen me buy that stuff just for the boxes, bags, blankets etc that come with various stowage sets, even if the scales are 1/35 when I want the non firearms stuff for 28mm.

It still works...

So anyone doing Indian, African, Chinese (ok nearly any non Western forces) up to the late 19th Century would find alot of these bits viable.

Now,...when can we buy some....Tongue out
