how to paint the sealed knot

Postby lackey » Fri Apr 06, 2012 6:52 pm

Hey all!
I read one or two people discuss some coat colours use by the sealed knot. Figured id try and be helpful and list all the uniforms used in the SK in 2004. Some uniforms have changed over the years since then, but this is the last comprehensive list that I have!
Every regiment has been broken down into its tertio or brigade. A google search for the regiment will bring up each regiments website, where you should be able to see the standard. Assuming the regiment hasn’t gone under or folded. Hope this helps!

Royalists
Kings tertio:
Kings Guard-crimson coats with white linings, crimson breeches, white hose
Queens lifeguard- crimson coats with white linings, black breeches, white hose
Belasyse’s- blue coats with white linings, blue breeches

Newcastles tertio:
Newcastles RoF- undyed wool coats (creamy coloured) with white linings, black breeches, blue scots bonnets
Gerards RoF- blue breeches with white linings, blue breeches, yellow hose
Lisles RoF- turqouise coats with white lining, grey breeches
Hoghtons RoF- red coats with white lining, grey breeches

Forlorne hope:
Bagots RoF- blue coats with white linings, blue breeches
Bards RoF-red coats with white linings, red breeches red hats
Maurice’s dragoones - red coats with white linings, grey breeches
Owens Rof-red coats with white linings, red breeches, red hats

Paletines tertio:
Ruperts horse and foot-blue coats with white linings, grey breeches
Northamptons RoF- moss coloured coats with white linings, russet breeches
Rivers RoF- black coats with white linings, black breeches
Glemhams RoF- grey coats with white linings, black breeches, yellow hose

Hoptons tertio:
Rawdons RoF- mustard yellow coats with white linings, black breeches
Slannings RoF- sky blue coats with white linings, grey breeches
Hawkins RoF- undyed coats (creamy coloured) with white lining, grey breeches
Grenvilles RoF- blue coats with white linings ( 6 narrow grey diagonal stripes on sleeves), grey breeches
godolphins RoF-blue coats with white linings (4 wide yellow diagonal stripes on sleeves), grey breeches
Tilliers RoF- green coats with white linings, grey breeches

Parliamentarians:

Northern association:
Prides RoF-red coats with yellow linings, grey breeches
Pickering RoF-red coats with blue linings, grey breeches
Hutchinsons RoF- grey coats with white linings, grey breeches
Manchesters RoF-red coats with moss gren linings, mos green breeches
Greys RoF-red coats with grey linings, grey breeches
Saye and seles RoF-blue coats with white linings, blue breeches

Midland association:
Skippons RoF- red coats with blue linings, grey breeches
Birches RoF- red coats with black linings, grey breeches
Fairfax’s RoF- blue coats with black linings, grey breeches
Carrs RoF- moss green coats with white linings, grey breeches
Stamfords RoF- red coats with blue linings, grey breeches
Ballards RoF-red coats with black linings, grey breeches
Robartes RoF-red coats with yellow linings, grey breeches

London brigade:
(it says the London trained bands arnt in this brigade.. Go figure.)
Essex’s RoF- peachy orange coats wih white linings, black breeches
Hammonds RoF- red coats with white linings, grey breeches
Jones’s RoF- moss green coats with white linings, grey breeches
Tower hamlets RoF- red coats with red linings, grey breeches, leather jerkins.

Independent :
Wallers horse-mustard yellow coats, buff coats or jerkins, black breeches
Parliament trayne of artillery-moss green coats with white linings, black breeches, leather jerkins.

Scots brigade:
(all royalist apart from frasers)
Frasers dragoones- hodden grey coats with white linings, hodden grey breeches
Gordons RoF- highlanders
O’cahans- green coats with white linings, russet breeches

When I say linings, I mean that nearly all coats were lined with linen. This shows where the bottom of the sleeves are rolled up. They wouldn’t have been white, but more of a unbleached, undyed linen colour, like GW’s bleached bone paint.

Thanks for the list. I have .jpg of all the SK from before the site became useless; someone on here was smart enough to save the little clips.

It's a pity the old SK website went belly up.
Thanks for the links
