I agree with Grant here i have been using Valejo washes for the past 3 months and find them to be excellent i just mix a wee tad of water with them and get really good results :D

I actually bought a full se of the dropper bottle ones, so around 8 colours, and have used them all.

The I added tub sizes of the Sepia (like Devlan) and Black for the value - I use those the most.

I only recently added the black, if I had only one I would keep the Sepia.

Same as Grant i use the Sepia for most applications even flesh :o The good thing about Valejo is they come in a dropper type bottle and you just squeeze out the amount you need and if required a small amount of water. The washes also come in big bottles so if you get one it will last you ages ;)

As it happens , I was looking at the grey wash at Brian's Store and noticed despite being there for communal use , nobody has yet tried it.

I am just wondering if it would do the job for the Victrix Nap Austrians when they get released?

Depends on what you are painting if a bottle lasts you ages! :?

For example I was applying a pin wash on a 20mm BergPanther last night and the mix was a quarter of a bottle of Devlin Mud , 3 dropper drops of Flow enhancer and one complete dropper full of water. THis AFV took the complete mix with just a little left over to start a normal Panther.

The grey is a nice lighter wash for whites. I used it for that purpose on some other minis. I am ashamed to say I owned some Warmachine once, for a couple of months, and chose a white paint scheme. The grey wash was great. I am happy to report that I sold my steaming pile of poo Warmachine army on ebay for more than I paid for it. And good riddance!

I've been looking at a painting guide for Spartans from the Gorgon Studios website, and Bennet Blalock-Doane refers to "dilution" for some of the GW acrylics and washes he uses - and I'm not sure if he means with water, or with flow enhancer. Is this the same as you're describing, please?

Just looking at the site and it seems water is used to thin down the paint.I use a similar method and use thin coats of paint watered down.Lately i have been using a few drops of very diluted washing up liquid mixed in with my Valejo washes ato help the wash settle into the creases nicely.Experimenting is the way to go until you reach the finish you desire.Good luck and happy painting
