First Attempt With Army Painter & Perry's ACW

Postby Constantine The Great » Mon Mar 02, 2009 3:15 pm

Hello all,

After returning from a ten-year layoff from war gaming and finding painting quite a chore, I thought I would give the painter system a go and dust off my brushes.

Having never painted 28mm before I was pleasantly surprised and found the experience quite refreshing, knocking out a couple of figures in an afternoon; which I know is painfully slow for the vets out there, but quite a relief after all the highlighting/dry rushing of my past etc. Hope you like the results.

Perry's ACW

I used strong tone and dipped the figures, gently wiping away excess dip after a few shakes. Upon reflection this probably should be done a little more methodically as heavy shading has resulted on the officer figure in particular - but hey, lessons learned.

Rear View

I think it shows that by following the directions by the letter, you really can achieve quite pleasing results with little effort and in my case at least, a fair degree of 'ring rustiness'

Onwards and upwards!
