For all of you up in the Pacific Northwest, the NWHMGS will be hosting it's annual convention/event on the weekend of May 25th-27th. On Saturday, May 26th, Dean Motoyama will be hosting a spectacular Black Powder Peninsular War event. If you are interested in participating, check out the NWHMGS event page at http://www.nhmgs.org/conventions.html and/or take a look at Dean blog which earmarks his progress on figures and scenario planning at http://wabcorner.blogspot.com/
There will also be a Kalvan of Otherwhen game (running twice Saturday & Sunday mornings) using the 30YW/ECW Blackpowder rules. I even modified the Montrose figure so it has breasts & a pistol (instead of telescope) for Princess Rylla.
We will be running Essling 1809 at 1900 on Saturday 26 May. Here is the discription from the Enfilade 2012 events list: It is the early afternoon of 22 May 1809. As the Danube bridges collapse, the weight of Austrian attacks bear down on the defenders of Essling. General Boudet is ensconced in the massive granary. Archduke Charles throws in the grenadier reserves and fierce seesaw fighting sweeps through the small town. Napoleon turns to his aide Mouton and the Young Guard to restore the situation. Will the Austrians collapse the French right flank and rout Lannes? Or will the French hold long enough to ensure an orderly withdrawal onto Lobau Island?
I am just about done wIth a scratch built 28mm granary and looks like the Salamanca game run run by Dean Motoyama will be held Friday at 1900.
