Disorder clarification from the Open Day ...

Postby Rich Jones » Sat Nov 28, 2009 4:01 pm

Watching the Napoleonic game reach its conclusion I noticed that the Perry twins were taking all the disorders off at the end of the turn even if they had only happened that turn.

We had been playing that it came off the turn AFTER it happened ... so I asked Rick and Jervis who said all of them (as in for the side whose turn it is) always come off at the end of the players turn ... so another player and I looked it up and in the book it does say 'the players next turn' which people may have been taking the wrong way.

SO - Your disorders come off at the end of YOUR turn whenever they actually happened !

The text will be cleared up in the next printing I think Rick said ...

Disorder clarification from the Open Day ...

I am presuming it will be ... don't think anyone had twigged onto the fact the text could be misleading as it is not something that happens in a game that much although it will make a difference to being able to get stuff out of trouble.

Disorder clarification from the Open Day ...

Postby Big Al » Sat Nov 28, 2009 5:50 pm

Hi

I know this isn't particularly helpful right now, especially after Rick cleared it up for you, but remember that a lot or some of the rules are taken from Warmaster. The rule in those rules about confused units is the same. The confusion is lifted at the end of your turn, so you can't do a lot with them beforehand. Disorder, whilst not the same as confusion, I took to be similar. I recognise your name from other Warmaster forums, Rich, so I know that you know the rules and will have just overlooked the similarity.

All the best

Al

I had been playing it as per the text implication, so I'm glad it is a little more lenient!

(also easier to remember)

Big Al - yep tis me ... trouble is there are a lot of similar stuff to WM and a lot which is slightly different (got out of the habit of adding a dice to combat when charging now !) and the disorder text does imply it lasts ... I should have not read it so well!
