Forum Maintenance 8th September

Anyone else a bit miffed by the changes to how pictures are shown?I like to use forums to show off and look at other peoples models and having to click on each image to see it at any decent size.While I agree the way pictures are posted is a bit more clunky than on other sites but it's pretty easy to do, it's nothing compard to tiny images messed out post layouts...

 Not really because previously a picture heavy topic would take an age to load and about 1/3 would be off screen

Sorry to raise the subject again, but is it just me or is there something not working with the 'posting pictures feature'?Rather annoyingly I cannot see any pictures I posted recently.On top of this the forum's layout seems to have changed again (bigger font and every other post with grey background ) again looking like a construction site and it is painfully slow compared to other forums I visit frequently.And why is there this field for an Avatar pic showing this lovely little red X underneath everybody's name when there is no way of uploading an avatar anyway??? I do not know why or if this 'maintenance' was needed but I sincerely hope the forum will recover from it soon and is not terminally ill.  Cheers S.P. Edit: And to be able to see if and how often people edit their posts is a feature which I personally find utterly disturbing.

That's because you paint better than I do . And you (and most others) are 'Emperor' and I'm only a 'Legate' obviously. No seriously, this needs sorting...the forum seems to have more bugs than Windows Vista. Cheers S.P.

 Hi SP,THe software yupgrade caused us no end of problems. Happily we've overcome them and are now working our way through the all-new dashboard and it's new features.Please bear with us for a few more days as some of these features we're trying out for the first time.On the subject of notifying of edited posts I've turned that option off now.I've also turned on the option to upload your own avatars - I hadn't noticed it was switched off Were your pictures posted since the upgrade but before myself and Phil were able to get back onto the forums? If so, as Phil mentioned, we had to wipe all new posts as the problems were caused by a corrupt database. Apologies if that's the case - hopefully you'll be able to post them again.Now the forum sopftware is updated we'll be revamping the look of the forum in the near future - the current skin is very much a placeholder until we can make a custom look for the forums.I certainly wasn;t expecting such upheaval from what I perceived as a simple software upgrade but hopefully all the trouble is behind us on this now.As ever if you have any problems or ideas we're all ears (eyes)...Cheers,Paul
