My 1st Cohort of Tungrians

Postby Suetonius Paullinus » Wed Sep 09, 2009 5:36 pm

Here the tester I painted yesterday straight after ripping open the first box of plastic Auxiliaries.

Pics are not brilliant, sorry.

Cheers

Hurrah! I'm not the only one with painted placcy auxilia any more! Looking good - I particularly like the green background to the shield.

The shield design is by yours truly: I needed shield transfers for the pre-production models, so I drew some on my Mac (with a turquoise background), printed them off on clear decal paper and used them. Paul rather liked them, so I gave him the design and Warlord's wizards turned it into the 'clear' effort you get in the set - which I reckon is a very good idea, as the design should now should work over just about any colour.

It is, by the way, an authentic design, nicked off Trajan's column.

G'day SP,

Great as always!

I'm a bit concerned that 'Great as always!' is an insufficient compliment though.

OIC Homefront - has stated that she doesn't like me using it as it seems off-hand or insincere.

So now I have started using:

'uncharictaristically beautiful',

or:

'suprisingly okay'.

These haven't seemed to work either….

Nevertheless - your work is great as always!

Where are the rest?

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks for your kind words guys, I did another one today. Over here we had a glorious day and I have been forced to spend it outdoors as it may well have been the last for a while...

More pics tomorrow night if I manage to get some batteries for my camera.

Cheers

Here my progress from yesterday:

Allthough I feel a bit like a heretic now, the next pic prooves that the new Warlord transfers make even WF's plastic Auxiliary Cavalry look much better (and I can field an all plastic COHORS EQUITATA if I want to).

Maybe we will get WG plastic cavalry one day..

Cheers
