WW1 German

Postby Budgie » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:29 pm

As promised a couple of photos of my late war Germans. All Great War miniatures, Dark tone brushed on, struggling withe basing, the others are getting more stuff put on. Not sure about grass, not too much should do the trick I think. Handpainted the cross on, looks gasher and more expediant I reckon anyway.

They look great, I'm liking them.

I like them, too 8-)
The bases look very WWI!
The freehand cross looks good but it's more like a WWII Balkenkreuz.
In WWI it looked more like the Iron Cross.
Keep'em coming 8-)

Cheers

Thanks for the comments, that'll help keep me going on them!
I still think there is something missing from the bases though, that might be due to the fact that on most of the figures I've based I've used static grass, oh well I'll see.
The tank is Great War as well, couldn't resist it! I read somewhere they moved to a Balkenkreuz late in the war, there was no way I was even going to attempt the more traditional marking!

Ja so schon!

Great tank as well. Not as pretty as a British tank, but still great!

Sweet.... Those are on my list.

How many do you have to paint? Are you doing more than just the Germans? I'm planning on four forces eventually.

What rules are you going with?

I have another 64 figures and 1 Field gun to paint and base, 10 to varnish, 25 to base, and 15 finished. Once this lot is done I'll probably move onto the Early War, I've got a few BEF done, but I'm liking the Great War miniatures early Germans alot. All I have are the Great war rulebooks from WH. When I eventually get all settled and the miniatures painted, I'll lokk about for a club in my area, but it's been along time since I did any gaming.
