French/Prussian, German war of liberation 1813-14 (pictures)

Postby Ploughsharestoswords » Fri Apr 06, 2012 1:30 pm

Hello!

I just want to inform you that I and my second cousin have started a historical wargaming blog that initially will focus on the Napoleonic wars. It will include us learning Napoleonics and the building of a french and prussian division (Brigade) for the German war of liberation 1813-1814.

As we are learning and painting we are going to participate in discussions on this forum and we hope that you will find our efforts interesting.

Please visit us at: http://ploughsharestoswords.blogspot.se/ for many more pictures.

Regards,

Anders the elder (General de Brigade) and Anders the younger (Generalmajor zu Brigade)

An interesting blog with nice pictures.

Great Landwehr. Converting French into Prussians is no bad way, the Prussians used a lot of captured material. So the typical French muskets your Landwehr have is no bad solution.

But a question, what is the reason for a Feldjäger in your staff structure? That was no rank in the Prussian army.

First of all thank you for all the nice comments, they are really motivating us to paint and convert more.

That Mancave is really impressive and the table ended at 7m long so lot of room to maneuver and we might have some pictures of it in action on Monday!

We went with Feldjaeger as we wanted the brigade commander to be accompanied by someone that could also be used as a orderli. For the french that would either be a Imperial Orderli or an ADC and for the Prussians Feldjaeger or ADC. I with my french went with the ADC and Anders the younger went with Feldjaeger to get some color into the brigade. Rules wise they aren't really going to fill any function but we want them just to give something extra to look at.

I hope you find out efforts interesting and we are looking forward to put up some more content.
