20mm dutch at Quatres Bras

Postby Horster » Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:19 am

My first finished BP project :D
Went for 20mm to get sth on the table quite fast but it took me forever anyway... staying focused is the matter

But finally there is a whole division of dutch belgians painted dipped and based.

consisting of:

a dutch belgian brigade

ok the term is not really correct I think but the boxes had it printed on them. Its from the short period when belgium was part of the netherlands and the brigades consisted of dutch and belgian troops.

That's a lot of Dutch or Belgians!
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

Nicely done.

And totally correct label Dutch Belgian forces for the time up to 1830. Under this name in the OOB of Wellington's army, not kingdom of Holland forces.

That brand new Kingdom of Holland, mixing protestant and catholic (former Austrian) parts. One of the many crazy decisions from Vienna congress 1814.
No wonder that some of the soldiers ......... ;)

I read it several times but often followed by the discussion if its correct to say so or not.

The reunion of northern and southern netherlands was 200 years too late. From a certain point of view it might have worked, sort of correction of the outcome of the 80 years war. But it showed that nationbuilding is more than drawing lines on maps.
