One of the best examples of figure painting i've seen in a long time. Amazing detail on the face.

Matt

Wow!! thats some nice painting Cubster. I have noticed you use the NMM technique quite a bit at the moment, Do you prefer the look or are you just trying something different?

I think he's just showing off. Because he's that good. And he can.
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

I shall ignore that colonial Grant's heckling.

It's a technique I've been practising to try to get to grips with it. There are times when I think it's appropriate to the model and times when it's not. I still do use metallic paints more often than not, but when there's a 'prestige' model to do I like to take a little more time if I can just to get a more dramatic effect.

I know what you mean about the 'dramatic effect' I guess that is why artists tend not to use metallics when painting in 2d. In the case of miniature painting, using metallics well can be quite a challenge at times IMO. It is almost as if the application of metallic paint 'flattens' the sculpted detail.

Thank you all for your kind woids (New York style talk, I'm trying it out).

Maybe if Paul or John want their 'Pike and Shotte' special model painted ... hint hint ... I could have a crack at showing you that too later on in the year ... hint hint ... nudge nudge ... wink wink ...
