ACW: New York regiment

hello guys!

finished another unit today. Again very simple painting. basic colours, weathering by drybrushing Vallejo Golden Brown, Army Painter Dark Tone, matt varnisch and voila.

Unfortuneatly Testors doesn't sell their dull coat anymore (the pactra water based one). The models have a bit of a sheen on them cos Vallejo matt varnish isn't as matt as it should be..........

If you can get Army Painter, their Matte Sealer is what I use now, over DullKote. And I am a hardcore Vallejo fan! I think the AP is great stuff.

Yes I think you can do a better matt with a different varnish. Try your local art shop for example

What paints did you use for the uniform?

I cant get testors where I am either so I tried the Humbrol acrylic matt varnish and it is very flat and I would recommend it a lot
