Four Days in June

Postby Suetonius Paullinus » Sun Feb 12, 2012 8:31 pm

This is going to be my Waterloo Thread!
Since I will be visiting the Battlefield later this year I simply ought to start yet another project (besides, my Phalangites haven't arrived yet :cry: ).

A few Redcoats, maybe KGL or 4th Foot or maybe I will make two different command bases so they can be both 8-)

And here 'Meine Kinder', ze Prussians:

Actually quite a pleasure to paint some blue uniforms for a change :lol:
And a very nice range of figures, too. Another box shall be ordered..

Cheers

Great stuff as always, SP!
Here's a pic of me at Waterloo in 2010. I thought it was a fantastic place, wish I had more time to go around all the markers and such. I was with a friend, and he brought his son, so time/attention span was an issue. Still loved it.

Looking very fine. Are the Prussians in the box all in Marching poses?

What is your recipe for the redcoats?

The Prussians Line Inf are all march attack, the Volunteer Jagers running at trail.
Similar to their plastic French Infantry.

The red is quite easily done, base coat with GW Blazing Orange, nice wash with Devlan Mud, highlights with Orange again and a wash with Vallejo Flesh Wash to tone it down again. Quick and fits the bill 8-)

@grant
Man, I can't wait..

You won't regret going - I wish I had more time to check out all the markers and such. Plus time to actually walk and visit the specific areas. Still, loved the trip. And because we had the young guy with us, I got a McDonald's sundae. Yay! :lol:

@correus
Basing is medium brown gravel by Woodland Scenics, fine, normal and coarse mixed.
A bit of static grass- done! I never paint my sand to make it look like..sand :?

@grant
I know I won't :lol:
Bunch of blokes and a lot of beer.
We go to Ypres (Wipers) first... 8-)

I went to Vimy on the same trip - its like a Canadian thing to do. Also Arras by default, as the train only took us there, but still very nice town to see.

I've often wondered why people do this.... :?
