Your Free Legionary

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:27 am

The plastic Imperail Roman that was free with Wargames iallustrated has generated an enormous level of enthusiasm and we're starting to see pics of the painted model - some people don't need sleep it seems...

So, what are you waiting for - show us yours!

Cheers,

Paul

@Paul: Paintjob took under an hour, otherwise my wife would have divorced me. According to her I behaved very childish that day (all this excitetment to finally have a plastic 28mm Roman was nearly too much for me..) and I didn't want to push itWink. Getting the rare earth magnets in position properly was taking a little while though..

@Fluffy05: I'll try to get a free legionary for u @ Salute on Saturday mate..btw don't you guys get WI in OZ as well??

Cheers

Mine is in the oven while the glue holding the flock in place dries. Photos tomorrow! Not my finest ever figure, but I was trying out some different techniques - I want to be able to knock out my Roman force rather quicker than my usual pace - which makes continental drift seem positively hasty - whilst still having them look fairly reasonable.

Hi S.P.,

You Rock! You don't have to go to all the trouble Smile I will definitely get a box or three when they hit OZ in Late March/Early April.

I haven't found a WI retailer in Oz yet. To be honest I hadn't heard of it until I looked at Warlord Games.

I just ordered my copy of the WAB rules though Arcane Miniatures and some 1st Corps Auxiallry Cavarly and Maximus models (locally) to go with the EIR Warlod Games Plastics.

The new plastics for Romans & Celts definitely have me excited Embarassed.

If only they did Greek Hoplites too Innocent

Keep the painted pics coming guys! The models look great!

Happy Painting!

Not my best painting ever (well, he's going to end up buried in a unit of figures, rather than being for display (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it), and not my best photos, but here we are:

Warlord Games/WI Free Legionary

Another view of my free legionary

He looks fine at real (28mm) size and at typical viewing distances.
