WWII British landing craft (28mm)

Postby 14th Brooklyn » Mon Jun 11, 2012 12:33 pm

I put some photos of my 28mm / 1:48th scale British landing craft on my blog today:

http://dhcwargamesblog.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/british-wwii-landing-craft/

There are the 4 LCAs that were used by the US Rangers to land below the cliffs of Point du Hoc on D-Day (Grand Manner) and a LCM (Hobby Boss).

Enjoy,

Burkhard

Fantastic landing craft and figures.

Can you give me a basic run down on your colour choices for the US Rangers jackets? I would really appreciate advice. Yours look perfect.
Cheers

THX guys

@Allan: I have replied in detail to your questions on the blog!

@ Paul: I was afraid someone would ask one day! It was a homemixed paint I made since could not find a shade that I felt looked right. I started with a dark brown and mixed in lots of white till I got the colour of bleached wood. Washed it with a homegrown brown wash (1 part chocolate brown, 10 parts water, 1 part white glue) and drybrushed with the original colour with a yet a little more white mixed in. Sorry I can not give you anything better, but I have been unable to find any colour that matches mine with either Valejo, CdA, GW or Foundry.

Cheers,

Burkhard
