New Model Army - Tester

Postby Suetonius Paullinus » Sat Feb 13, 2010 4:13 pm

Hi, fancied a break from Napoleonics (till the pre- ordered Victrix Old Guard arrives..) and opened up another box of ECW infantry. This time it's going to be New Model Army for me so Oliver has some tough troops to lead into battle once he has made his way from Warlord Games HQ to good old Suffolk..Laughing

So here my first one:

I hope for your feedback before I start mass production. What do you think of the colours?

Is there anything I have missed?

Looking forward to your comments Cool

Cheers

Love the deep rich colours and the non-black black trousers, panzer gey? All looks great to me.

Thanks mate! The trousers are Vallejo Black Grey washed with Badab Black and highlighted with Black Grey again.

Great looking NMA! I had some NMA once, but I sold the rebellious lot to a friend, and declared for the crown. Tongue out

Would be nice to find out what Stallardicus has to say...

I did some more in the same scheme and am so far quite pleased with the result.

More pics soon Cool.

More NMA questions: Would dragoons have worn the red coat as well? They have been regarded as mounted infantry after all. And what about artillery? Any uniform at all?

And finally: Can somebody pretty please approve stallardicus' post??

Cry

Hey Brilliant stuff as always SP.

I do like the one with blue cuffs - but I like the yellow cuffs more. I think you should shoo for that colour scheme.

The red is nice a deep and the rest of the miniature is suitably sombre (they are English after all) and the blue is a nice spot colour to brighten the miniature and draws you in to the rest of the fine detail on the fig.

I am glad you explained the action man figurine - because I thought it was you for a second!

I though you must of got 'plastic' surgery Yell (that's how hard I'm laughing, although that emoticon does look like its sneezing. I think I may have ED (emoticon dyslexia - very common condition nowadays) because I can never seem to work out which icon is for which real world emotion).

Go forth and multiply SP!

You said mass production... what, 60-70 battalions?

Cheers,

Jim

Hi all,

60 or more battalions are certainly tempting but I will soon enough be distracted by new projects I am afraid. But I still got several boxes of infantry unopened. So plenty of figures to convert and paint for my NMA project.

This is what I got so far:

Oh, and there are the Old Ironsides and of course Cromwell waiting to be painted.

But I will definitely need some more firelocks for a 'Fairfax regiment'. And Dragoons!!!

Cheers
