brilliantly characterful, I might have a go at the method of applying blood you mentioned.

My secret weapon ... the wife's bonsai tree! Once a month I go to it with some tweezers and harvest any small dead leaves, then preserve them with glycerine & water so they don't rot. Purdy ain't they?
