I loved my holiday (2008) in Malta. The Museums, the Forts and so much more for the avid military historian. If you are into coins or stamps from the order be sure to pick them up as well there was a kiosk that sold them in Valetta (sp) . I have a well developed interest in the Knights of St. John of Rhodes-Malta. What I also found interesting was looking at the terrain for the proposed Operation Hercules ( the Axis Airborne/Sea Invasion of Malta).

Enjoy

So...if we build appropriate terrain we could have a Hail Caeser, Pike and shotte AND bolt action.
Could be a go0d day out somewhere.........

All at the same time or in chronological order?

Looking at the terrain of malta would it suit perfectly a ww11 skirmish game which seems very popular at the moment? :D

I think the malteese also took up arms and rebelled against Napoleons french troops defeating them with the aid of the royal navy during the napoleonic wars... So a possible Black Powder game too?

@Mikeland ...You are correct! Napoleon turned up on his way to Egypt. Please may I use the port he said. The Knights of St. John said no. It wasnt really a question so Napoleon came anyway and the Island fell with hardly a shot fired.
I think there was one tower on the island that resisited. THe french looted the churches to help pay for their campaign...my cousin said they made one mistake. They didnt take the priests with them too!
Napoleon set off leaving a garrison behind that ended up besieged for two years in one of the fortresses.
Lord Nelson helped out...Malta becomes British.
My version of events courtesy of my limited guide book... :D
So Black powder too : ) Four seasons in one day ?
