I'm sure I ordered from Chilter at some point too.

Thing is, when you recommend a range it has to be for a reason. PP has much better looking models than BF, it's not hard but PP's are very nice. FIB is cheaper and nicer than BF to a degree but not everyone liked the bases on the tanks.
PSC are both cheaper and nicer looking, not as nice as PP but much nicer than BF and much cheaper but you get the benefit of the company clearly hammering along to make as complete a range as they can so you know that whatever you fancy you can get one that matches in style and scale.

However, I'm stuck with Battlefront for the time being, seeing as how they're currently the only people making 15mm Romanians.

But you must admit that the mainstream prospective player will want models PSC can provide, and if they're better looking and a literal fraction of the price then pointing them towards PSC is a prime quality bit of advice.

I'm not arguing with that point. I'm just as curious as everyone else to know why Battlefront's prices are as high as they are. My response on seeing the cost of the add-ons to the rural road set were along the lines of, "You're kidding, right?" (I own the original rural road set that was released under the Battlefield in a Box label last year, and the accessories would add some very useful pieces). My quip is only a nod to the fact that I've often seen people on Dakka Dakka get a bit... forceful... when "pointing" people toward PSC. The suggestions tend to be significantly more pushy than "PSC is a good place to buy inexpensive and good quality miniatures."

So would you say Peter Pig is the nicest in 15mm? I've always wanted to get their Russian Civil War line, it's a conflict I've always been interested in.

I would say they are but the price reflects it.

Just looked at the Peter Pig site and they look amazing! I have seen 28s that are nowhere near that quality.

Aye, they're dear in terms of PSC but I think they work out a couple of figs cheaper the BF - considering it's a cottage industry and not a largish company manufacturing in the developing world.... Pretty, pretty, pret-ty good (copyright Larry David).

I havn't a bad word to say about Peter Pig. THey have been around a long time and I think they would have been one of the original 15mm drivers. They have probably suffered a bit with BFs near monopoly .

I still have many of their old figures from the 80s and 90s and the scuplts then were better than most BF offerings. Run by a gamer as well . Yes small cottage industries like this need supporting . :thumbsup
