Friday 29th June

Postby Deadmanwade » Fri Jun 29, 2012 7:45 am

Well, that's work done for the week. Going to grab some groceries and beer from the supermarket on the way home and then get on with getting some Roman Legionaries done. Just the shields and then the bases to do. I'm not that fond of transfers though, so I am wondering if I should try to freehand a design onto the shield, leave them blank or make the effort to get the transfers done properly....hmm.

Tomorrow I am off to play some games at a friends place and sunday will be spent painting again. I have a bunch of 'nearly done' units so if I can get them finished I will take some photos and upload them to this forum.
Close enough to play with. - My motto for painting historicals.

This weekend is all about painting Germans for me. Only have the last few pieces to finish off (splinter pattern on helmet covers, buttons, insignia and wire/rope nets for helmets) and I have two 10-man squads for my new Bolt Action army.

Must remember to pick up some more to get started on the next elements of the army...
Cheers,

Paul Sawyer

I might have to become a 1930's style hustle and go shoot some craps (I hope it's not what it sounds) in a sleazy casino because baby really does need a new pair of shoes.

Missus has had a promotion and is all excited about work, which is great, and we'll be having a home weekend this time around after the last few weeks being dominated by errands, visits and essential trips here there and everywhere.

I may get a few minutes later to slap some paint on the Greatswords I'm doing for a customer, but if not I'm sure there'll be time before next week begins anew.

Well, I have a cold (again) so I'll probably stay home (again) and paint my TYW (again).
Fixing the basing on the last batch of my imperial infantry box, then it's on to the cuirassiers.

Oh, you'll reminisc about it soon enough and wish you were back there in the halcyon days of your youth! :D We've all done it and it gets better as you get older!

I'm having an early night tonight. Got to be up bright and early to get to RAF Waddington for the airshow tomorrow. Gates open at 8am so traffic is going to be heavy. Should be good, even though the weather forecasts varying shades of rain! :D

Wargaming-wise I am hoping to crack on with another unit of AWI militia. The last two looked quite good, though I say so myself. A mixture of Foundry and Perrys in shirt sleeve order. Just two more to do

"Real life" wise not sure. Depends on the weather I suppose.

I am repairing 48 15mm ACW figures for Black Powder. I had them painted by a painting service. Real bad job. My first try at getting figures painted was not a success.
