I'd have already evacuated myself some time ago, which wouldn't have been pleasant for those sharing the shelter with me. Make like a gopher and enjoy re-emerging to a brave new world.

Report in, Correus! I've heard a few people were killed during these storms. Hope you and the family are all safe and well.

I promise never to moan about a few days drizzle here in the UK again.
I don't think I've ever waited in such eager anticipation for someone to post on here before.

Am in Minneapolis for work this weekend, Tornado warnings sounded here about an hour ago, tail end of same storm that hit Kansas yesterday, luckily it looks like only a few minor funnels created and no major twisters or damage....

Oh, I don't know! A few people were killed in the floods recently and when we had all that early snow in 2010. And what about the winds, when trees and parts of buildings fell on cars and vans? The weather here may not be as spectacular, but it still capable of taking lives. One death is one too many. :(

Oh I agree wholeheartedly, one death is too many. And here's hoping that Correus and family are not just another statistic. I was more thinking of weather that you either run from or hide. I'm quite thankful that although it rains alot we don't have things here that can eradicate entire communities.
