Germans?

Postby N. Von Klose De Helmholtz » Wed Feb 11, 2009 1:56 am

Gutentag I was wondering if there will be any ancient Germans released in the same manner as the Celts and Romans? A friend of mine has started up a Roman army and is challenging me to build a army of my own, but I was hoping to play my ancient countryman as opposed to Celts. As my questionable English displays I am not a proficient in written English, so I will apologize in advance for my botching.

Germans?

We haven't heard much about them recently but I believe that Germans are planned. They will be similar to the Britons in that they will use the generic Celt plastic mouldings with added metal heads and other details to convert them.

OH NO!!!

I really hoped that they woulöd go for something new here!

For one I feel like the poses are to limited coming from that sprue. And it would be sad to go down cookie cutter lane! And second... Germans were different from the Celts in more ways then just heads. Yes they traded with the Celts and this also included military items. But still they looked a lot different!

Please... if this is true think it over!!!!!

Cheers,

Burkhard

Germans?

Postby Varus » Wed Feb 11, 2009 4:52 pm

Yeah I hope Germans will be a new set. Romans have had 3 plastic boxes and the future Auxilia set, so really the barbarians deserve another unique box.
Although, I think Paul hinted at the Dacian box being slightly different to the British... so maybe... we'll have to wait and see what Warlord come up with. :)

Dacians aren't far off now. And yes, they'll be quite different to the British - you'll certainly get more metal!

We have them being cast and now need to find a suitable painter as Phil is quite rightly passing on painting the Dacians after his heroics doing Romans, Celts and British this year.

We've already started to see supporting models coming through the the Dacians and they'll looking rather good :)

Germans are on their way too but Dacians are first...

Cheers,

Paul

Trying to preserve what's left of my sanity - another warband army would be sure to see me locked up in the loony bin.

I'm on the very last unit of Britons now (and only got four colours left to paint on them - plus the dip, basing and stuff) - still got three units of Romans to paint though - just waiting for that idle beggar Sawyer to send me the castings so I actually have them to paint. :)

Celts, Britons, Dacians, Germans - Wow, can't wait to build my enemies of Rome forces. Hopefully there will be plenty of leaders and standards etc to go with them???
