I wonder....we need to know if the stats are added automatically or after a read through of the data by a moderator.

Actually, you can cheat. Just log into the forum and don't log out. It will show you continually online even though you might have gone to bed.

It does log you off after a while though!

I believe the default for phpbb forums is ten minutes if you don't log out, then it adds you to a "in the last hour" list if you have that activated. As an Admin you can cheat by making the online list as an hour so the total different users on in the last 60mins get added to your most online total. Bots show as "Guest but it's best to allow them in the total so it looks even better for mahoosive numbers.
