Friday the 13th

Postby Deadmanwade » Fri Apr 13, 2012 9:08 am

Hmm, of all the days when I decide to participate in a 'Friday Night' thread, it had to be today :D .

Well, this is my first time doing this and it also looks like I will be starting the thread off to boot, so I am a little nervous. Hopefully I don't make too many errors.

My plans for this weekend include painting up some German Panzergrenadiers, singing Karaoke (badly) with the missus on Sunday and celebrating my Wedding Anniversary with some nice food at a reasonably priced eating establishment.
Close enough to play with. - My motto for painting historicals.

Looks around carefully.

You seem to have started off fine!

I'm going to be painting a whole load of scenery. Took delivery of a huge amount of GM Bank and palisade defences yesterday and not it's all cleaned up and ready to be painted.

And congratulations on your Anniversary :D

Well I just started a blog.

Not much to look at just yet, but hopefully it will improve. I hope to get some more photos up this weekend, but I still have some Flatpack furniture to build. I have also got a 20mm Iroqouis to put together in time for Triples. Plenty of time, but I'd rather get it out of the way early.

Happy Anniversary, Deadmanwade!
Big Al, I love a good blog. I'm nowhere prolific enough to ever do one so I look forward to all your delights.
Mike, get some pictures up where you're finished!

A thought on "Big" prefixed people. Given that Al and Mike are the only Al and Mike's we have, surely on average no matter how tall they are in comparison to the rest of us they would remain "Average sized Al/Mike" since on average they are the fiftieth Percentile of the mass of Mike/Al's we have?!

I'm getting my puny number of twelve Yanks prepared for painting and I'm finishing a Tamiya M20 1:48 I started nine months or more ago. I'm as far as having a gloss finish for decals and I need to get the rear suspension painted and grubbied up before I get the skirts on.

I don't know what all the fuss about Friday the 13th is about. It's my lucky day.

I met my wife on a Friday the 13th; her birthday is the 13th, and she was born on a Friday. My father is a Friday the 13th, and her dad was also a Friday the 13th. So that's 3 of the most important people in my life on Friday the 13th...

Ok, not taken part in the Friday posts before, mainly cos I'm lazy and a terrible lurker so here goes....

I shall be painting up a shed load of romans for my EIR WaB, for a break I'll base coat my STuGs and Panzer IV's and probably take the kids swimming.

Oh and for info must hospitals don't have a ward 13, at least mine doesn't.

My Friday started perfect, deep in the night I've won all Ebay auctions on rare British militaria I was bidding on. So no bad start for a Friday the 13th.

I plan more TYW painting to be done this weekend but there is a collectors fair I will attend. A friend has a stand and I promised to help. So not as much painting time as could be wished.

Hope you all have a nice weekend, especially all the POW's in the centuries old war between the sexes. 8-)

Starting to pack all my figs away tonight ready for the move in a few weeks so not much modelling done tonight if any, although might base coat WG Bonnie prince Charlie if time allows!

I can't believe how lazy we've been this morning. The baby is over her nan's house and we didn't wake up till .... 9.30!Then I got up, made the tea, came back to bed and we stayed under the duvet for another hour.

Today I have some Romanian Chasseurs to crack on with and I'm going to try to squeeze in an experiment with Army Painter on 1:72 plastics. I'll have to be diligent on those seam lines so fingers crossed it goes okay.

Planning to start (and if things go to plan, maybe even finish) 12 early war Royalist cavalry.

Also experimenting with making terrain this weekend, if anything comes of it I'll put up some pictures.
