Regarding the film containers... A decade ago when I first used these they were bleeping easy to get, camera shops were actually happy to give them away. But even I had to admit that digital photography has gotten as good as analogue. I think the last time I used one of my analogue SLR's was at a wedding 5 years ago and only because my friends had asked for someone to take old fashinoned photos on professional material.
I don't miss the old film cameras. Just imagine it, finish the model, make sure camera has film in, take a photo, wait til you've finished the roll, take film to chemists, wait til next day, pick up film, scan photo (if it came out...), twiddle with pic in photoshop, upload, post on forum. I don't ******* think so.
I'm tempted to nick the idea and modify the size of the carcass to take those plastic boxes from the 'Really Useful Box Co.' in place of the drawers. I use the ones that are a little over A4 size and about 3" deep for figure and paint storage. It's not going to look quite as nice as the uniform MDF drawers but will save me making a load of them.
Just get a Helmer from Ikea. The drawers are perfect for lots of things, I have a lot in the workshop for figures, paint and everything else. I just need to finish labeling the drawers so I can find things.
