(with apologies to Terry Pratchett)
But it is very quiet. I trust everyone is beavering away, finishing off prior projects ready for lots of Warlord Roman goodness...
Except me - I've already got a set (says he, gloating), and I have been sitting at my workbench, hacking parts off sprues, cleaning them up, and bunging them in old 35mm film canisters, ready for the mammoth job of assembling them all. It may just be my memory playing tricks, but I could swear that there's less cleaning up on the models from the 'real' sprues than there was with the free figure. I've decided to remove all the bits from the sprues, and clean them up, before starting the assembly job. Bits I don't use on the figures will stay in the canisters ready for the next batch - i.e. they become the 'spares box'.
When it comes to painting, I shall paint all the figures (seriously tempted by 'The Dip'), plus the spare helmets and pila - which I shall use as 'battlefield debris' - placed as seems appropriate on figure bases and the likes.
Anyway, I haven't time for this - I've still got seven right arms with pila to clean up before bedtime!
