Indeed! When I was a subaltern, we young officers were tasked with hosting a mess function on a rotating basis. I won the year by having a tasting of the malts. Glenlivet was the cheapest on the menu. Win!
Take car. Go to Mum's. Kill Phil - "Sorry." - grab Liz, go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. How's that for a slice of fried gold?

For me it's Courvoisier XO with a Cohiba cigar.

We went to our local for tea and I still managed to paint one Redcoat and one Zulu afterwards...!
Another three of each are scheduled for tomorrow. This will be the last miniatures of 2011
Have a good one all and Happy New Year!

Cheers

Malt?

Not like the armies. Only a few bottles. But including 1 1/2 bottles of the old Laphraoig. Made before the change.

And a bottle of Bourbon, for a friend who stayed too long in the USA. Drinking it with C... . And ice! :?

This man also likes a fine Courvoisier.

Laphroaig. Fantastic stuff. Second only to Lagavulin in my opinion! Apparently, it was the only liquor that could be sold openly during the prohibition. The authorities believed that it was disinfectant due to the smell. 8-)

Yes, the main advantage is that you drink only very little of it. My rare old style stuff is only shared with an old friend who knows how to enjoy it. He came back from Afghanistan in autumn and I had to give him something very good as welcome home. No bottle, just a glass. ;)

Hellenistic bases are dry, now I can paint them. 2011 was a great year for that army, got a lot of unpainted second hand and most are now ready for action.
