Undave wrote:Hmmm not sure I'll bother with this one. Not much point buying a £28 book for the handful of armies I have that are covered in there. Add in that all of them have their own supplement already and it makes it a bit of a waste. If the lists are an improvement on the ones in Shieldwall, Age of Arthur and Art of War then I might take a pop but I doubt it.

I've just come to exactly the same decision, usually i'd just buy it without thinking too hard (and if it was in the 1/2 price sale i still would have) but £28 does seem a bit much

Sounds like a plan. To be honest a book with over 100 lists, 208 pages and hardback at that seems pretty good value for £28. Just my two penneth!

I thought it looked good value too which is why I've just fired off an order.

The problem I forsee with it certainly in my individual circumstances is that at our club, I am quite sure the guys will want to continue with their existing army lists from the supplements. In that case unless it signifantly improves the armies or my army then it would may not be worth buying for me or for the majority of people in a similar situation to my own. I will bear this in mind when I do the review. ;)

The problem with the old supplements is that they will be discontinued. Some are already out of sock, some almost. And the point costs have changed according to some forums. Therefore it might be difficult to play new lists vs. old lists.

Colonel White, we eagerly await your concise yet in depth review of the tome.

Can I recommend that you also put it in comparison to the other supplements where a list exists and the differencies between them. I agree that people may not want to move and thats fine where both the armies come from that supplement but I wonder how it would work in a tourney.
