Just back from a messy kid's party, just enough time to peruse the site and wonder if a drunken miniature company owner will let slip the details of the new Roman piece with which he was tantalising the Forum with. Basing up some old Ral Partha and Citadel minis to practice dipping on, hmmm ... a cold Peroni, you say? That'll do nicely. :D

Started the day with some sewing. Yes, sewing. The epaulettes on a 1907 made Lt. Colonel's doublet became loose. Well, in 100 years a lot of me will be loose too.

No miniatures painting done that friday, only a small repair on a ship of the line.

Next some collection documentation, a new feather bonnet arived with mail. Taking photos, measuring, writing the description...... What some people think to be fun.

And later some painting???

Well, I had a very eventful and extended night! My son was in pain that got progressively worse, so I spent a few riveting hours in that den of excitement known as the A&E Waiting Room. If you've never been, you really should go.....not! Didn't get to bed until 3:30! Gastro-enteritis after all that. A relapse, because he had it a month ago, but this was a bit different and more painful. Oh and NHS Direct is totally useless!

I was involved in a similar incident last night - a close friend was rushed ito hospital at 11:00 with severe adominal pains, so I got drafted in to baby-sit (their one-year-old likes me more than any other non-family adult). Didn't get home and into my pit until 03:00. Turned out to be colic, or something like that - nowt serious anyway. Knackered today.

I'm staying in all weekend to play X3 Ablion Prelude with my new flightstick. Sad, eh?

You ain't seen nothing yet! Wait 'til NHS111 comes online; that's really useless!

There's quite a bit of gastroenteritis/norovirus stuff around at the moment, and there's a predicted increase in 'flu late Jan/early Feb, so watch out if you've young 'uns. That said, the non-event of 2009 was the 'flu pandemic, so it could just be crying wolf ...

Norovirus? that is nasty. Had it earlier this year at the same time as my wife and baby son. A case of whose turn is it to hold the baby while the other TRIES to get to the bathroom... :(
