On another note, since you are doing Cold War, I am very interested in doing the Yom Kippur war, but am having a horrendous time in finding decent models. Any suggestions? 20mm or 28mm would be fine...

Take a look at Rolf Hedges' range, RH Models. His Liberation Miniatures are excellent, all 20mm and he has quite a range. He stocks vehicles too, but sometimes has a delay because he may have to order them in. He's a fan of Black Powder and Hail Caesar too!

Problem I have with RH minis is that most of his vehicles tend to be marked "Out of Stock" or NYA (not yet available?) . His infantry as you mention are far better with the Liberation lines . The web site is in need of updating IMO

Yes, his website isn't as up to date as it could be. I asked him when he'd next get some ferret armoured cars in and I got them in a couple of weeks. He told me he had to place an order with his supplier and duly did. The key is to talk to him. He's very responsive and will get you what you need.
