Well I still think the reaction was OTT. Can't a guy make a mistake without being hounded by a mob with pitchforks! The fact that the reaction itself is now being defended just adds to my feeling that this was a case of hysteria and the madness of crowds!

Wow! I leave the laptop for a bit and suddenly it all goes mad! New smileys and all!

The thing is that being the editor of the magazine he has some influence. Some people sit up and listen to what he has to say and so he holds some sway, unlike the rest of us, who do not have such an audience. Therefore, when he is wrong, he should accept it gracefully and not resort to rudeness and certainly not blocking someone whose only crime was pointing out the error. Further to that he continued to comment on the incident, after blocking PA's access, so denying PA the right to reply or defend himself. That is an abuse of what little power he may have.

All this sounds like an assault on Mr Hyde and it certainly isn't meant to be, so I must apologise for that. I am only pointing out the rights and wrongs of the issue. I read the entries and I do know that should have been dealt with in a much better way than it was.

I assume you mean the sad topic of the turnip field... or perhaps we should refer to it as 'Turnipgate'...

Perhaps when people stop bringing it up it will end!

Well I think you will find it wasn't me who started a thread about this that initially put it on this forum.

Ah, semantics, perhaps I should back down to a modern Cicero.
