Armenian campaign

Postby Titus Flavius » Sat Jun 05, 2010 3:28 pm

Does anyone know anything about the Armenian campaign in 58 - 63 under Corbulo? I quite fancied using it as a background for putting my Early Imperial Romans up against some Cataphracts. But having read Adrian Goldsworthy's chapter about it in For the Glory of Rome I can't find out that there were any pitched battles at all in that campaign. What does anyone think?

Pardon me, Julius! Here wast thou bay'd, brave hart;
Here didst thou fall; and here thy hunters stand,
Sign'd in thy spoil, and crimson'd in thy lethe.
- Julius Caesar, Act 3 Scene 1
