There will be a chance to engage in modelling clinics to help with conversions or getting tanks looking battle-weathered.

We will also be running tours for small groups to see our metal and resin casting facilities allowing you a chance to see the magic happen and maybe even take a figure straight from the moulds!

The ZiS-2 is a Soviet 57-mm anti-tank gun used throughout World War II. ZiS stands for “Zavod imeni Stalina” or “Factory named after Stalin”, the official title of Artillery Factory No. 92, which produced the gun first.

As you can see below you get an absolute stack of troops in the boxed set. Painter Alan Mander built three 11-man squads, a sniper team, anti-tank rifle team and an officer with two subordinate Red Army comrades. Of course, this is just one way you can build the contents of the box – there is a staggering number of options to choose from.

Warlord’s second 1:56 scale plastic vehicle was the iconic Soviet T34/85!

The T-34 series, with its sloping armour, changed the principles of tank design during the war. The sloping, angular layout of the T-34 increased the effective armour thickness, and also saw a larger proportion of shells deflected away than penetrated its armour. The introduction of the T-34 into action saw German tank design follow suit with similarly angled armour on the likes of the Panther and King Tiger. As German tank design came to the fore,  the Soviet war machine once again raised the bar with the T-34/85.

First to rumble into view is the monstrous M26 Pershing, the US’s first heavy tank to see action. The Pershing served at the end of WWII as well as in the Korean War, it;s 90mm main gun proving effective against German heavy armour and Soviet tanks alike.

The M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage was based on the ubiquitous M3 halftrack, with it’s fighting compartment taken up with a Maxon M45 rotating gun turret. With it’s four .50 Cal machine guns chewing up either air or ground targets, the M16 MGMC fully deserved it’s nickname, The Meatchopper!

Born out of a need to mount an upgunned turret mounting a 90mm gun, almost 200 Sherman hulls were converted to take what would become  the M36 Jackson turret. The result was a bad day for German heavy armour!

Mounting an open-topped turret with a 75mm howitzer onto an M5 Stuart hull gave US forces a highly mobile self-propelled gun that saw action in most theatres of operation. The M8 Scott  saw action in the Italian, the Western Front, and Pacific campaigns, as well as by the French Union and State of Vietnam during the First Indochina War.

Field modifications were a regular event in all armies during the war and the GIs were no exception. This Sherman tank has had wooden side armour added. The reason for this is a matter of some debate with popular theories being the wood prevented magnetic mines from being attached, Japanese lunge mines being less effective, or that it was there as a foundation frame for concrete armour!
