Spotlight: Transfers and Decals

This time in the Spotlight we throw a little illumination on those useful and sometimes frustrating wonders of tabletop miniature gamine – Transfers and Decals. Steve Hales at Little Big Men Studios has produced some marvellous shield transfers to fit our metal Imperial Roman Auxiliary shields.

To apply these transfers all you need to do is cut them out, attach them to the shield using their self-adhesive backing and then add a little water to the back. After a few seconds remove the backing and you now have a beautiful looking shield! You’ll find detailed instruction for using these superb transfers here.

For our plastic Celt models we have a variety of unique and intricate designs. A defining feature of a Celtic army is their shield heraldry and you certainly wouldn’t want to have your forces looking less than their best on the tabletop – would you?

For our Imperial Roman Legionaries we have a range of transfers suitable for use on our plastic Legionary scutum shields. These are also useful for any of our metal models that carry a scutum or buckler.

Of course with the release of our plastic Imperial Roman Auxilia, we had to come up with even more designs for this impressive boxed set. These are adhesive shield designs and should affix to your models in a jiffy.

Finally it’s a well-known fact that Celts liked to draw sigils on their bodies before battles in a blue substanace called woad. Therefore it’s only proper that we offer you a transfer sheet with plenty of woad tattoos for your models. Be careful with these, they’re a bit fiddly.

That about sums it up for our review of the transfers and decals in our range. Make sure you keep an eye on the Warlord webstore as we have much more coming down the pipe for you.
